fuel pump

Default fuel pump

how do you take the fuel pump out?
I got the cover off. Somehow the lid wrong move. Is there a specail way to take it out?

You must drop the gas tank unfortionally.

There are 2 straps that hold it up and a few lines you must disconnect on the driver side.

Drain the tank and place a jack with a 2X4 on it and jack it up so the wood is against the tank (for support) Then undo the straps half way and unbolt the fuel lines (make sure there all disconnected then drop the tank all the way.

so i have to take the tank out to get the fuel pump out?
I could see the fuel pump in the car.

Unfortunately, yes. That's the way it has to be done with '88-91 Civics.

the peice you see is the sending unit, not the fuel pump.

you will see once you drop the tank

i know the all 88-91's you have to drop the tank, but im unsure about the earlier ones.
