92 accord ex -- spun rod bearing, rebuild, replace??
about 6 months ago my accord died on me. i brought it where i go to college, brought it in, pulled the engine, stripped the whole engine down, found out i spun a rod bearing. I also found out my crank was out of spec for that rod, so it wasn't any good even to get it machined. at that point i decided it wasn't worth it. someone ended up giving me an f22a1 block that had a good crank in it, so i took the block, took the crank out, and looked for more parts. that also gave me the con rod i needed. i priced out parts recently, and was looking at about $300 for a rering kit and main bearing set, and about $200 for a gasket kit, add that to the other things i still need comes around $700+. The body isn't in good enough shape to make that kind of money worth it.
Anyways the question is, does anyone know where i can get a cheap 2.2l F series engine, or a rebuild kit for it? Or what should I do?
And can I get any decent money for parts like a rebuilt head that's not tested, a stripped down, cleaned block, crankshaft, pistons, etc etc, that i stripped out of this engine?
