gears feel notchy and 5th gear grind
Well all of my gears feel notchy when you shift into them and my 5th gear has started to grind. I put gm synchromesh fm as everyone on here recomended and the gears still feel notchy and the fifth gear grind is still present from like 2,700rpms and up. Now most ppl i have seen on here claimed gm synchromesh to clear away notchyness and gear grinds. Could something else be the problem?
This is very annoying as it caused me to lose a potential sale for my car today when they guy shifted into 5th and got the nice crunch. BTW my car is a 95prelude v-tec.

my tranny is the same way, the shift forks are bent, there was a service announcement that honda put out a while ago about it. Its a commo problem for 4th gen forks to bend and 5th gear to grind
new syncros and fork are the only fix
pick up the newest issue of honda tuning and there is a good article about the H22 tranny(pretty much the same thing) and how to rebuild it, the pics are helpful in understanding the problems as well

4th gen. ludes are known to grind 5th. Its a major problem with them. When I had my USDM tranny it would always do that. I dont believe that the USDM ludes tranny's are anywhere as good as the JDM ones. I have a JDM tranny in it now and its not notchy at all and 5th never grinds.
my 3rd through 5th grinds.... actually its more like..... 3rd grinds, 4th rubs (bad, but not a grind), and occassionally 5th grinds..... but if i slam it in theres no grinding -_-
Wich Hondatunning mag? I went to the store today for it and theres only the "civic slide" or something like that. Nothin bout the H22 tranny in there.
Before all that, maybe try to bleed the clutch, that might temporarily ameliorate the problem, buying you more time. Also, rev-matching preserves your synchros.
