Default z6 y8 intake question

Will the intake off a z6 or y8 work on a d15b2 for an mpfi swap?

Yes, but remember the throttle body bolt patterns are different on the B7/Z6 and Y8 manifolds.

y8 Manifold > Z6 manifold

Ok, reason I was asking is cause I just bought a y8 intake + tb + injectors off of ebay (beer and ebay dont mix).

I figure I can use the injectors minus the resistor box. But the vafc on the TB is somthing I dont understand.

Any ideas?

(Bump)

Should I just return the y8 intake and tb and stick with the SI one for mpfi?

I'll trade you if you are interested. I have a stock A6 manifold and also a stock B7 manifold laying around my room. In all reality, the Y8 is a much better place to start.

Yeah I really really want to use the Y8 one. But I dont know if there is any way to use it on an obd0 ecu. I think there is somthing different about the MAP or VAFC sensor on it.

Anyone know?

you wont be able to tell a damn bit of difference between the z6 and y8 manifolds. ive tried htem both. make sure if you use a y8 mani, its the one that does NOT have air injection ports!

btw, my car was a DX with mpfi and they work great. the hoses are a little different but very easy to figure out.

no prob, if you go with the z6 manifold, lmk and ill take some pics that may help you. make sure it says P28 stamped on the back of the manifold or it may be a DX which has slighly smaller runnners.. ive seen the DX (P06) passed off as z6's a few times.

btw, i have a p06 dx mani id sell for pretty cheap. it would still outflow the hell out of a d16a6 si mani.

Do you have any evidence that the DX manifold would outflow the A6 manifold or is it speculation?

pretty much speculation and general concensus.. the runner appear to be larger on the p06 mani than the a6.
