I installed mine with the help of a friend and it took two days. But we were also doing some other stuff at the same time so it shouldn't take too long. Saved an estimated $500-$700...
On long trips or hot humid days, air conditioning is a gift from the Gods. I've driven 400 miles in convertibles and 400 miles with the windows down and by the time I got to my destination I was beat to sh*t!
400 miles with the windows up, air on and the stereo at a reasonable level is a breeze in comparison. You will be less tired and much more alert.
I am not an air conditioning technician, but I have installed two factory kits on my older cars (Nissans) without any problems, however the factory kits come with installation instructions designed for the lowest common denominator. The kits also come with a number of small pieces like firewall grommets, switches, relays, harnesses, etc, that you might not realize are different from those that come on the car originally.
Good luck,
John

I live in AZ
My Civic didn't have AC
I have it in my R now...but if I didn't live in AZ I'de yank that F'er out in a heartbeat. It's nice to have, but if you can live without it...do (you'll notice a diff. as soon as you strap that damn belt on).

How hard was it to take out? I'm about to take mine out if it can be done in a safe mannor. The only time I use it is when it rains to defog my windshield.
any other opinions??
I live in SoCal too...and yanked out the AC..I've already gone thru one summer without..it wasnt that bad. I have my windows tinted all around so that kind of helps when the car is parked, I would put it all back together if i had the time to use this summer but i dont think its gonna happen...ohh well...hope i dont bake in my car on long drives......
AC was a must yesterday....driving home in the rain after the autox, I cracked the window and turned on the fan to try to defog the windows. Big mistake! It got worse until I turned on the AC.
BAM
, window fog is gone in 2 seconds
yoshi - who'd like to remove the PS and AC, but can't b/c it's also a daily driver
