Vtec Kill switch.
Alright well this summer i am going to be commuting alot in my 90 civic with b16 ys1 tranny, so that means crusing the thru-way at 4-5 grand
So its possible that i would be crusing in vtec. (not good for gas
)
My question is where would the best place to put a swtich to turn off vtec?

vtec is only engaged at a certain throttle percentage. therefore, it will not be engaged while cruising -- only under acceleration. there is no need for a switch. also, if you did use a switch, you would throw a code when the switch was off because the ECU would not see the load of the solenoid.

Whichever is efficient. I dont wanna switch the wrong wire and bam mess something up.

Try driving around with a dohc in vtec all day and see how many mpg you get

So if im crusing at 80-85 and i hit 5500 rpm it wont enguage?
You learn something new everyday

correct. but the instant that you "get on" the throttle, vtec will turn on.
