FYI: New ATS 3.077 1st Gear! Only $250!!!
I just found this on the Racing craft website. Hopefully Yasu doesn't mind me posting this.
Thought you guys who are dropping your trannies in the next couple of weeks would like this.
I am doing a lightweight flywheel and clutch in the next couple of months so I might just do this upgrade as well.

Yes ! They used to come with the mainshaft but now they just offer a 1st gear to work with the stock mainshaft !
Highly recommended upgrade (close gear ratio)

stock 1st gear is around 3.3 if i recall correctly. the new ATS 1st is a 'taller' gear... hence u can stay in first a bit longer, maybe not wheelspin as badly, and not drop as many rpm shifting to second.
ATS gearset uses the stock 2nd gear

Definitely
Almost majority for street racers or weekend racers in Japan , close gear set is the "must" before they go racing. A longer 1st gear always benefit in drag racing with high power engines cuz you will have less wheel spin and easier to hook up during the launch. The reat of the gears will less power lost during shifting.
More hardcore racer like Auto-X (Gymghana) may even run bigger FD with the close gear set to achieve more acceleration.

This would be great for those like myself with the ATS 4.929 FD who might have some traction probs in 1st gear once they make a lot of whp.
So they have one for the USDM shaft? What about the ATS shaft that comes with the 4.929?
EDIT: I do not make a lot of whp - I mean for WHEN I make a lot, or if OTHERS make lots of whp...
