Loss of POWER? due to distributor and cap change?
Hello Lude crew i'm looking for some help after i changed my distributor rotor and cap + spark plug wires... during the replacement of rotor and cap, I set the TDC to cylinder 1 so that the rotor screw was visible to take out. Now I turned it counter clockwise... is counter clockwise the right way? because there wasn't any mustard to turn the crank bolt clockwise so that the bolt would show up. Also how much should you turn it so that the screw is visible? should the screw be visible enough to put ur screw driver so that u can turn it or aligned in the utmost center before taken it out? what would happen if you turned the TDC crank bolt too much or too little?
do you have a 4th gen or a 5th gen? If it is a 4th gen 92-96 you have to set the timing after replacing a distributor. Which would explain why you are losing power.
it is for 5th... actually i don't know if i have lost power.. just wondering seems like so but would that cause it to loss power? if i didn't aligned the TDC right.
Replacing the cap and rotor does not matter if it at TDC as long as you can get to the screw to take the rotor off you are good.
Remember-counter clockwise=loosening, clockwise=tightening
Remember-counter clockwise=loosening, clockwise=tightening
