Okay i am looking at edelbrock intake manifolds and they have the extra boses on the bottom for the secondary fuel rail. Now i have seen on numerous occasions on this site that show that the best atomization of the fuel/air is farther back in the runners than the stock location. This can be seen in TWM and Toda ITB setups. I was wondering if it would be possible to thread the stock injector ports and plug them and then put your fuel rail and injectors on the second boses farther back? In theory this should be better, what do you guys think?
You could try it, but you'd have to buy Edelbrocks own injectors and fuel rail, I dont believe you can re-use either your stock injectors or fuel rail for that.
Oh BTW, I just bought one yesterday, should be in the mail.

in theory yes, but you must also think about how the ecu "knows" when to open and close the injectors and this is programmed for the stock locations
i dont know how much of a difference those 3-4" or so is going to make in injector timing, but its just something to think about

well what do cars with ITB's do such as the TWM and Toda setups, the injectors are real far back, maybe someone with them could chime in?
i just recently installed that same mani on my car.i wondered the same thing as you,but came to the conclusion that if there was a benefit, wouldn't the manufacturer do it that way in the first place?i am interested in hearing people's theories, but i say that either there's no advantage,or some drawback to it.
BTW-this would be an expensive theory to test as it requires Edlebrock's own injector/rail setup.you may be able to get creative and use the stock stuff, but it definitely doesn't bolt right on.
