Default Aircraft Remover on GSR Blades

I just came up on a set of GSR blades and since they are pretty old i was wondering if taking AR would take out all the blemishes and places where the clear coat seems to look baked? Ill be keeping them chrome as well, im not going to be doing some whack DIY powdercoat. Thanks in Advance.

Pretty much is this a good method to go by?

And once your done with all of that you get this:





total cost 9.98 for 2 cans of aircraft, 6.99 for 1 jar of jasco, didnt use it much, still works though, and 3.49 for mothers polish </TD></TR></TABLE>

only thing i would recomend is going to a higher grit sandpaper ie:

start with like 400 grit
then maybe 600-800
then like a 1400
and finich with like 2000 grit

blades come stock with a really fine finish and u'll need a high grit to get the stock look back

and you will need to put some GOOD clear on them unless you want to be outside on your knees polishing them 2 times a week.

Thanks that was wat i was thinkin...maybe go higher on the grit

I just dont wanna **** up my wheels

I read if ur wheels are made of alloy which most are, then u dont have to worry about rust....

1st off, those steps posted above are steps for polishing a wheel. By polishing them, you wont be ''keeping them chrome''. 2nd off you want to start low and go high. When I polished my Cam covers, I used 180, 400, 500, 800, 1000, 2000, but they also didnt come out perfect. You want to use every grit possible. Dry sand until about 320 then wet sand 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500 (or 1600, for get which one is next) then 2000. After that you take the polish (I used Mothers metal polish) and rub it on teh surface with a towel until the compound turns black (you'll see what I mean), then wipe it off and rub it until you can't see any blemishes. I dont know about clear coating over them because I havent tried it myself but I CAN garuntee you're going to be re-polishing them every weekend or so if you just leave the polished finish open to the ''elements''.

If you want them chrome then take them to a chroming shop. I'd also be interested in seeing your "DIY powdercoating" station. How is powdercoating ghetto? I always thought rattle can'ing wheels was ghetto. Guess I'm just not ''in'' anymore.

He's not saying that because of rust. The polished finish will tarnish and get dirty and its a bitch to clean and keep clean.

Thats exactly wat i mean bro, rattle canin... Get it DIY powdercoat...?
