Default Supercharged GS-R

Hey,

I was wondering what the max power I could see out of my gsr would be with the JRSC. Also, if I do get a JRSC someday will I still be able to autocross? If so what group will it bump me to?
any other hastles of a supercharger that I havent thought of?

Thanks!

The sc should get you between 200 and 210 hp. If you use the pulley to spin the charger faster, I would guess 210-220 hp.

currently you are limited with the JRSC, about 10-12lbs of boost is the max, because the intake temps get so high, but give them about a year and they will have an IC for it.

anyway 10 psi supposedly will get you to about 230 at the wheels. I am not sure though.

as for autox, just worry about keeping your tires from spinning you will have aprox 40% more power across the whole range, no lag. as long as you keep the tires from spinning you should be fine.

Hey:

I would think a JR supercharger would help considerably with the autocrossing. The big benefit to this thing over a turbo is the increase you get in low end torque. Haven't had either one (yet), but I bet it would be more fun on the street too.

My buddy's Lightning always does pretty well at the autox, anyways.

oh, and there are some people who have put a small 20shot of N2O with their JRSC, it cools it down considerably, and it increases output greatly. just in case you want to go fast in a straight line as well as take an autox course fast.

for autocross...

a supercharger would put you into SM (Street Mod) where i would recommend adding r compound tires and an lsd to be competitive.
i thought about doing this for autocross, but my budget won't allow for all the mods. so i'll just play in STS until i win the lottery

Yeah, it all depends on how much $ you put in it. I believe Endyn mods the charger to handle 12+ lbs of boost - that and nitrous would kick butt. $'s the issue though.

I heard that ENDYN is gonna make there SC with 12+ standard on a stock engine.

Also what can you expect in the 1/4 mile w/ the standard 6lbs of boost?

Here is my friends setup:

95 gsr
Tenabe racing medalion
Aem cold air intake
310 rc injectors
vafc
jrsc 8psi pulley
jr fuelpump
kamecaze header
msd btm
clutchmaster stage 3 clutch

On 18" racingharts he made 236.6 Horsepower to the wheels and about 160+ foot pounds of torque...

At the track this all equals out to 13.4 at 104mph on 14 slicks at the 1/4 track....

I hit 200.3 whp and 149 lbs of torque with 6 psi and stock everything.
In the next few weeks I hope to hit 230 whp with a whole bunch of new stuff I just recieved. On the autoX track, I molested a turbo GSR and came in 7th overall (out of 60) on my first race. It is a great mod for daily driving, racing, or cruising.

that, and I have heard bad things about the "modifications" that he does to the standard JRSC. and then I have heard people that love it. I think it is pretty much hit/miss.

I wouldn't recomend it highly.

I would say that if you are going to get the JRSC don't do any serious mods to the SC until they release an IC for it.

They have been discussing an IC for a while now...If it happens, I wouldnt be surprised if a 3rd party develops it, and Jackson mass markets it a year later. The way its designed is going to make things pretty hard, though.

I dont think the limits of the JRSC have been reached yet...theyre constantly finding new ways to make the system run more efficiently, even at 6PSI. I would say the #s quoted (200-210 on 6PSI) are a good estimate. Although, RBoosted is into the 12s on 5.5PSI with tons of tuning & 250whp(?), so you never know.

I beat a newer gsr last night with a jrsc, intake, and exhaust

from 20-90 i beat him by 2 car lengths

i only have a ecu, i/h/e

do alot more research before you buy it

did you add up how much newgsr's freind spent on mods

its like 5-6 grand w/o installation.

I would definitely go with the supercharger if your looking for reliability in your ride or a daily driver because my friend has had his jrsc on his car for about 30'000 miles and he just maintains his car as he would if nothing was installed on it.
I think the beauty of the supercharger is also that you can drive to the track and comeback without any worry, actually we have been to chicago on a number of different ocasions raced the out of it and drove it back while on the other hand another guy I know blew up with his turbo ls pushing 13psi and he even had a slower time than my friend......

That endyn blower is a bunch of BS. It will never happen, but it is amusing.

You won't believe how untuned some of the JRSC'd GSR's are out there on the streets... I don't doubt that at all because I have seen stock ITR's raping JRSC'd GSR's, and mostly the JRSC have tuning issues. Some folks just slapped them on, turn up the fuel pressure and that's it
