Default Cleaning Headlights

What product is good to use to make you headlights look like new again?
i've heard of Meguire's PlastX but i'm not sure if it works too good.
i've also heard of wetsanding but i heard that takes a long time and i'm not too sure how to wetsand them.

my headlights on my 98 civic (plastic) have this whitish filmy crapy and i just want to get rid of it so they can look brand new again!! help!!

Wetsanding does take some time (took me about an hour, MAYBE an hour and a half to do both headlights), but it is well worth it.

All you gotta do is get some 1500-2000grit wet sanding paper (got mine from kragen)
Soak the paper in a bucket of water for a few minutes
Gently sand the lens until it is slightly hazy and smooth to the touch (be sure to keep the lens wet, I used a small hand towel soaked in water)
Then using some rubbing compound or car polish, rub the **** outta them until they look good.

There is a write-up on this in the FAQ thread up top.

not sure if this helps but 96-98 headlights are fairly cheap on ebay nowadays because everyone seems to be doing the 99-00 conversion. Sold my oem 98 set for $20 on ebay.

Just seems like extra work with the wetsanding...

Yeah lol... It would be easiest to buy someone elses, but if you really want to I'd just recommend you take the time to wetsand them.

I plan on doing a 99-00 converstion too
