Default 15's or 16's for daily driver application with occasional push

I have a d17 with future plans for it, but for now, its just daily driving with the occasional hard turns while speeding home from school.

should i get some 15's or 16's? and I ask this question in the sense that I want u guys, based on ur experiences, to tell me whether its worth getting 16's and having to replace tires every XX,000 miles or getting 15's and having the tires last much longer, but not handle as well (if that even makes a difference)?

essentially i wanna know if there is a good balance between performance and tire life between 15" and 16" rims

thanks in advance, i appologize if i sound like a fool

If I were you get 16s. If you get 15s you wont like it coz you are used to big sized rims and it would be too small for you. Either way for performance it would yield good results good luck

16" seems to have poor tire selection. I kind of regret getting a set of 16"'s, if I had to do it again I would probably get 15"

There are a lot of good tires out there for 16inch rims, you can try dunlops lm702 or 701 if youre on a budget but if youve got money go for Advan Nova tires.

yeah, the tire selection is huge for my application...

i'm going with some pirelli p3000, waranteed at 85k miles! O_O and AA traction too!

my only problem is, according to tire calculators, with 16" rims, i need 215/50/16 tires, but that size is rare and have to be custom ordered. Everyone i talked to recommended me to just used 205/55/16's instead, and the mechanic at the tire place told its also dependend on manufacturer and I can't just base my judgments off number crunching. SO does anyone know if its more common to use 205/50/16 or 205/55/16?

You will not be happy with the handling characteristics of the P3000, it is strictly a "Touring" tire made for Altimas and Lincoln Town Cars.

The AA traction rating is a bunch of mish mash, all it rates is wet braking.

The 205/55R16 is the most common because it is the OE fitment for a wide variety of cars.

What are you looking to do with the car/tires?
