As you lower your car, you need to increase the spring rate to be able to work correctly with the reduced available stroke and keep from bottoming. That is why all lowering springs increase spring rate as they lower the car. A two inch drop is quite a bit for a Honda suspension to begin with so doing it with no increase in spring rate is setting yourself up for a regularly bottoming car.

If this was not going to cost you any money and you were already planning on buying proper lowering springs and other shocks and throw away your stock springs and shocks, then this experiment will only cost you your labor time and sacrifice the springs and shocks as garbage so long as you don't damage any other parts of the car. If your shocks are good now and you hadn't planned on replacing them, this will almost certainly kill them.

If your friend really does this for a living, he is a hack and I bet and hope he doesn't make much of a living screwing up people's cars taking advantage of their lack of understanding.

very bad idea to cut springs...but just in case you go ahead with the experiment..don't heat up the springs and torch it, use something else(forgot what it's called)

i was told you need to mark the springs while they are still sitting on the struts before you make the cut...

but yeah...hopefully you won't drive with a cut springs...kinda dangerous from what i heard and it's illegal in some states

no i will never cut a spring and use it. he was going to "reheat" it and refit it to be shorter
