which motor is more able to build more whp when built as in bolt ons, cams,valvetrain and a clutch? i know b18a are capable of putting down around 150-180whp with all of that. but what would the b16 put down with the same upgrades?

 

b16 will make more hp but the b18 will dominate it in torque, i choose torque for daily driving

 

how do you think they would run againist each other if both motors are both put in DAs. 1/4 times maybe?

 

i got the same concern i have a buddy with a sub 2000 LBS Da and swapped in a B18b and really the only differece bettween the two b18a/b18b are the intake, Throttle body, cams, and head ports... but totally stock he ran a mid 14 and i have been leaning toward that motor cause of its cost. but the b16 is also a nice choice b/c of the power u get straight outta the box bone stock...but the powerband is so shitty so the choice is up to u.... b16 vtec or b18

Honestly I loved my b18a > b16 anyday, especially for its boost capabilities and cheapness. Now I have a b20, and I'm selling my old b18a...
