NEED HELP: Hasport mounts in 91 CRX B16A
Ok, I tried all damn day today to swap my Place Racing mounts out for my new Hasports. Got the place racing mounts out, put all the hasports in except the rear mount. Took them all back out and tried to get the back one in but I cant seem to get the Bracket on teh mount and get the bolts to hold the mount to the crossmember.
Do I need a special Bracket? Anybody got some tips on what to do to get this **** in right? Would I be able to take the intake manifold off and drop the bracket right into place?
on a side note, somehow this fucked up my new 5000 pound SUV hydraulic jack...

TIA!

i had trouble getting that rear mount in on my swap. i found that you have to lower the engine beyond the level that it mounts. while its below that level slide the rear mount in there.
I think the easiest way to do this is to install the rear bracket as the engine is being put into it's spot, then bolt the top bolt in once the engine is close to where it is going to actually rest. Then attach the bolt connecting the engine mount to the bracket. Make sure you don't tighten them too much yet, until doing the last two bolts in the rear bracket.
ok, so I dont need a special bracket for this right? Thast all I really need to know.....and do I need to take the intake manifold off to get this in? its really hard to maneuver teh bracket around back there.
What did you guys use to tighten the bolt in the back hole of the rear mount? (the one that has the slot in it). I dont see anythign I have fitting back there and I have almost every tool imaginable, except air tools.

You shouldn't need to remove the intake manifold. No special bracket needed, just the mounts that Hasport supplied you with. Do you have access to a lift anywhere? That would be a huge help!
all I have is a hydraulic jack, jack stands, a floor jack, ramps and myself.
Thanks for ur help guys! I really hope I dont end up taking the IM off...it looks liek a PITA to get to the bottom bolts

I got them in today and omfg was it a pain in teh ***. at one point I had the rear bracket not bolted to anythgin and it would not move at all aroubnd the mount....
I have another problem though. Now the shift linkage that worked perfectly fine with my place racing mounts is having trouble going into 5th gear. Is somethign wrong or do I just need to tighten my clutch cabel a bit more? ANybody experience this before? My linkage is a modfied honda linkage that worked fine b4 the hasport swap.

Ok with the hasport kit you need shortened 90-93 Integra linkage. It must be shortened 2 3/8 inches. Is your linkage shortened at all yet? If it is, I have a feeling you may just need to start over with the linkage and get another one off of a 90-93 Integra at your local yard. When you said it is having trouble going into 5th gear, do you mean your linkage is hitting against your exhaust or anything? Or it just really stubborn?
Its just kinda stubborn. It barely feeles like I started to go into 5th but it will actually be in. It might pop out of gear when it does that (only done it twice so far). Someteims it goes into 5th like normal (easily with no problem)....
You may want to think about getting Hasport's linkage that is designed for this swap. I'm sure that would probably end your problems pretty quick.
Yeah that is why I was telling him earlier that he may need to cut the linkage if it hasn't already been done, or if the linkage is already modified then just buy another 90-93 Inetgra one or Hasport's.
Hey I got an idea......you need to modify your linkage or get Hasport linkage. No one said that yet right? Just kidding.
On a more serious note though. Try loosening and tightening your linkage you have now. Also if that doesn't work, try shifting from 4th gear to 3rd gear and then to 5th gear. This should hold you until you get the correct linkage. Does your reverse work?
I had the same problem with my swap, but I actually had the Hasport mounts and hasport linkage as well. I wound up just loosening up the linkage then tightening it up until I could reach all the gears.
You gotta play with it a lil.
Play with your **** and ***** for mama.

Ok, I found out what the problem is. I got someone inside the car while I had it on ramps shifting into 1,3 and 5th while I was under there looking for contact points. I could hear/feel teh linkage directly below the shifter hitting on something.
So while I was under there and he was putting it into 5th I saw the exhaust nowhere near the linkage. That eliminated that. so I look further back to where the shifter is and saw a part of the linkage that has a bar at teh very end of it, attatched to a "bracket" then to teh rest of teh linkage.
This bar is hitting on the underbody. The part f the exhaust tunner that has an ARC that kinda comes down lower that then rest towards the front of the car. I can take a pic of exactly what it is if you cant picture it. Im gonna get an old ratchet extenion and a brass hammer and beat teh **** out of that point on teh underbody tomorrow so that bar clears.
BTW: I thought the 90-93 teg linkage had to be shortened 2.625"???
BTBTW: mine is already modified. It just seems that since the new mounts pushed the motor back a lil bit (maybe an inch) that it cuased that bar to either raise up alil bit or just simply go further back...
Either way...EASY FIX!
