Owners of 2+yr knock off Wheels
My question is hows your knock off replica wheels holding up these days. I know everyone wants Mugen, Volk, Spoon, ect but dam the price of these wheels are so much and to even drive daily with these wheels are asking for trouble.
So hows the color and texture holding up and is there any other problems that you guys encounter.
I've heard that some rims have a coating on them and tend to peel off after 2 years or so.

got my c8's in white. Have seen several curbs, and 1 giant pothole. Color is mint, everytime I wash my wheels I fear im taking off some color, but everytime they come out fine... Never used rim cleaner though, just regular car wash soap and water. I have driven on 1 slightly dented wheel for over a year and hasnt leaked or anything. rota's are great daily driven rims, their cast which means theyll take a beating before they break. Forged rims are much stiffer, the only downside is instead of denting your rim, it will probably crack. Forged rims tinsil strength is much higher than cast.
rims are going on 3 years this summer.

you got that right nothing beats rota as far as durability is concerned. A lot of you guys havent tasted what the streets in manila are made off. Its made of friggin ugly MotherFkn potholes. Thats why ppl here opt for rotas!!! theyre just simply the best and can survive those nasty holes and at the same time look new for years to come
Rolling on 15" graphite Tenzo Sinko's (mugen rnr copys) for 2 yrs+ paint is mint

actually I read it on turbo Magazine like 2 yrs ago. It was more for silver wheels with that plastic whateveryoucallit coating over it. They said it tends to peel off.
You guys ever had you OEM GSR 5 spoke peel off, I did and I'm thinking thats what happens.
but yeah.....these comments are real assuring.

They put like a clear coat on or something like that on silver rims, like ls wheels, gsrs, si's and stuff like that. The coating is for protection and helps to clean the wheel better. The coating on it actually oxidizes but you could take it to a rim shop and they could fix it with no problem.
Its a different story if the rims were painted silver to actually being silver (polished) .
thats what i think, but if im wrong someone please inform

my slipstreams are 4 years old(got em before the explosion) and they're still perfect. minus multiple layers of spray paint on them:
ultra flat black
flat army green
black with red lips
all white
i think they're going blue next.
