Default keyless entry won't unlock but will lock when armed.

Hi I never posted here but yeah, my compustar keyless entry won't unlock when I disarm the alarm. It worked for awhile but now it won't. I am pretty new to the whole keyless entry bit so I really don't know that much about it. Any help is appreciated. I really miss keyless entry!!!! Thanks in advance.

You most likely have a disconnected ground wire from the relay operating the unlock feature.

Well I will try your guys' advice tomorrow. Where is the actuator/ unlock relay? Hopefully it is just a ground problem. After never owning a power option ride.... I kind of like the whole idea of keyless entry. Thanks!

i didn't think you had to disarm the alarm, then unlock it. if it's keyless entry then you should be able to just unlock it and that will disarm it.

the actuator is found inside the door close to the lock. The relay itself is on the drivers side door towards the mirror. Cant miss it....Brown box, bracketed onto the door, rectangle in shape...

ONE MORE THING: Also look in the corner of the kick panel area, to the left of the clutch pedal, way in the corner. There should be a box behind the cruise control comp....usually installers use the plug from that control module to connect the lock and unlock wires on the alarm. maybe one was accidentally pulled???

Deng yeh I am at school right now,but I had an extra brown box relay in my garage, replacing it did not do anything. I guess I will look for the actuator later today! I will check the kick panel area too, I did notice some wiring behind the plastic last time I was cleaning my car, hopefully that's the problem.

when looking in the kick panel, Typically look for a blue and a green wire that has been tapped into the oem wires.
