Is it normal for the ITR to not have as much acceleration after 120mph? Just wondering. A friend of mine use to have a 2 dr 91 Legend, and he had so much more acceleration than I did. We took it up to 140 on the highway for the hell of it, and said he stopped there cause he was afraid that he'd leave me behind, since the ITR maxs out at 146? Still think my R is slower than others, and not just cause of that.

its called torque, or lack of.

Let me tell you, that's pretty fast for a 1.8L.

There's probably a superb formula to calculate all that, but since I'm no engineer!

IMO, lack of power is the anwser to your question.

I always thought horsepower governs top speed and torque governs acceleration.

.....aerodynamics and drag limits are what are affecting the two cars in question.

Did it "feel" like your car won't go as fast or were you actually doing pulls?
