Default Decided to keep the ITR (and not buy an S2K)

Yes, it's true....I've been thinking and researching for about three months now, but have come to the conclusion that I will keep my R....what was I thinking. I can't sell my R, no way. People at work don't understand....I try and tell them I want something that is as close as possible to a racecar, and it is my feeling that although the S2K is RWD, and has more horseower, and is only 2 seater, that the ITR is STILL more focused on racing. S2 has cruise, no top (come on how rigid can it be...i know it is, but still), some sound deadening, leather (WTF?), and other little luxuries. I want the R, just a sweet *** car that is purpose built. I want to see other owners and talk stories, mods, etc, not what time the tennis match is, or how the grandkids are doing (sorry to all the younger owners out there.)

So, that is it, I hope. I'm keeping her, and the mod plan is in full effect again! Just thought I'd share my opinions in case it helps somebody else make up their mind.
Plus I have a place to put my race tires in the car...no trailer hitch here! And rollcages on an S2 look plain gay!...but right at home in an R..sometimes I wonder what I was thinking. Well, I maybe should have purchased a yellow R (doh!) but still I'm very happy with the decision, and can not wait to spend more time with the car in the spring. (Screw all you guys that get to drive it year round )
I think the fact that it was in the garage, may have caused the little clouded thinking! Anywho....Keep your R!!

I know how you feel man. I was going to sell/trade the ITR for a '02 WRX sedan (more practical for daily driving) and keep my hybrid for racing. Reality struck me upside the head one day when it was about 50 degrees outside and I took the R out for the first time in about 2 months. Then this guy here on H-T that I've never met or seen post before named oldman IM'd me and told me how he sold his ITR and bought a WRX and now has total buyer's remorse. He gave me a totally unbiased opinion on it.

I know, I know...the S2000 is a diff car than the WRX, but the point is it's very hard to rid yourself of your ITR. I feel so attached to mine.

I really like the S2K, the extra horsepower, torque and RWD. As much as I like it I wouldn't get one until there is a permanent hard top version, for the weight savings and rigidity of the chassis. The price is a set back as well (50K canadian) a hard top version would be better and cheaper. It would be nice to see a type-r version of the car.

I had the option of an ITR or an S2K, reseached them both, and was very happy I picked the ITR.

I want a shirt!

Call me a traitor but if I could trade up to an S2000 for less than $5k I would do it in a heartbeat

Just my personal feelings...I really like the Type R but it's just a car when it comes down to it and there is a price for everything

You can. While the ITR is still worth around 90% of its retail 2 years later, the S2000 is down to around 50% of its retail. You can probably walk in and just trade even.

If you have the money i'd say go for both of them.........my friend has a s2000 and it is honestly to me a unbelievable car......my dream is to have ITR/S2000/NSX one day..........so far i can check one of those cars off.......good start but the next two are going to take a long time.......

P.S. Good choice on keeping the R anyways, i think its a different fun......
