stupid question, just need a quick answer. Searched.

a friend of mine just purchased a 97 cx hatch. I am wondering the motor code, and a quick bit of info on it. vtec/non vtec, 8valves/16valves, etc.

its on the front of the block where the trans meets the motor under the head. should start with a d. once you got that youll know what motor you have.

have you checked the block for the stamp of the engine code?

i have not seen the car. A friend of mine bought it from a dealer an hour away and didn't know to look for the code. the car is at the dealer for another week.

D16Y7, 106hp, 16-valve SOHC non-VTEC.
