I just recently put my new exhaust on my 91 GS Teg. After I put it on it is nearly impossible to shift into reverse and impossible to get into 5th. Do I have to put my stock shifter back in to accommodate for the larger piping? If I do I'm gonna wait until Tuesday when I can put it on the lift at school. Any help is appreciated.

One of the hangers on the mid pipe is hitting the bottom of the shifter. I can get it into reverse if I force it, I let my mom drive it and she can't get it into reverse. It will not go into 5th gear at all.
What exhaust and shifter do you have?
Something isnt right, Ive had 3 short shifters on two different exhaust setups and I've seen one problem and thats the shifter chattering (its hitting) against the exhaust pipe.
