Default Fastest Prelude's Here

Just curious to see what kinda of times people run with their Turbo, Nitrous, or all motor Lude's. And if you could, give a brief description of your mods, and times. I plan to take my Lude to the track this summer, and hopefully have the Plate, or DP Fogger nitrous kit installed.

WHAT, I am calling total BS on that turbo prelude... I don't care how much HP the car has, it is way to heavy to get a 9.94 in the 1/4.. It isn't even tube chassis....

Agreed with u.. There is no way he can get 589 hp with 550 cc injectors.. No way in hell can get 9s on a lude.. he will lucky to get 11s... as far as i know.. the fastest lude i saw was a 4th gen hitting low 12s.. I hope i can get 600 + hp and hitting 11s..

Good call.

Edit: Funny how he doesn't have pics of any of the mods (except oem kit) or dyno plots...

look, the guy is full of it. I could go into all the logic and point out many scientific points that the picture would back me up on... like:
no roll cage, and no track in the country will let you on a drag strip that fast with no cage.

But I'm sick, and I don't feel like telling some poor sap that 575 hp isn't enough for 9s.

I dunno man, it does sound crazy but not impossible though...He doens't say anything about being stripped and gutted etc...

Well someone on SHO claims he ran 12s with a 4th gen lude, unsure about slicks or not and he was only boosting 12 psi...this guys says 17 psi so yeah ahrd to believe but not impossilbe...I think he would be running in the 11s at best with that sorta steup and that would be a high guess

Since you people seem to think that it's possible this car is fast, allow me to point out a few things:
-Clutch Masters Stage 3 Clutch will not hold that much power.
-Turbonetics T3/T4 turbo is only good for 400-450 hp MAX.
-he has a name brand oil catch can: Moroso oil catch can
but no name brand $700 flywheel?
-you actually think with this " Alpine 3920 TV deck, with DVD.
3 Alpine 12" subs." he's going to hit 11's?

Tell me exactly where you think the slicks are going to fit in those fenders?

"Heavily reinforced engine to run 17 p.s.i." does he mean a block gaurd?

Oh and it's a Prelude BASE not a Type S. There is only a Type SH.

My questions that would catch him lying would be:
Who made the manifold? Who did the turbo piping? Where was this time run at? What wheels and slicks are you using? Ask him if he's using a scatter shield. (required by NHRA and NIRA rules of 11.99 and faster) And at what speed was this blistering run? 60ft times? 1/8 times?
Plus, as I said, roll cages are required of 12.99 (or is it 11.99?) and faster by NHRA (and NIRA) rules.
Oh, and of course, Crower doesn't make cams for the lude that make power past 8500-8800.... especially turbo cars.

Anyone who has done this much, knows the ins and outs of the car. He doesn't. He's clearly lying, those that can't see it, especially now, are ignorant.

Rollcages are required for 11.99. Technically, he could get one run in before he got kicked out, but that car in the pic didn't run 11s. Does he even have pics of his engine?

Yea, he does have almost 600hp to the wheels, and that was probably his perfect run, best ever, and probably on slicks. I have heard that on front wheel drive cars, slicks can knock off up to a second in the 1/4 mile. I am not saying he is telling the truth for sure, but that it is possible. Our cars arent that heavy, I dont know why people think they are, go look at the supra, over 500lbs heavier, and the 3000GT is over 700lbs heavier, but its not to uncommon to see 700whp Supra's running 10's.

I WAS JOKING....i think/hope everyone here could see that this guy is lying. Maybe he ment he runs a 9.9 in the 1/8 mile.

It would take way over 17psi for a prelude to see 11's. 550cc injectors would max out way before 17 psi. He has nohead work listed to show that he could rev to 9200 rpms. And if I ran 9's in a prelude i would for damn sure be on espn and wouldnt being hanging out on prelude online.

Ok..that guy is a seriousl jack *** here..beinga turbo guy and I know theres no way he can hit 9's (maybe in 1/10's of mile).

(1)T3/T4 suppose up to 450 efficiency (said Myles)
(2)550 is only good for 350~400 tops (that's what i have now)
(3)Intercooler? what brand?
(4)Golden Eagle sleeving? I don't think GE sleeves H22 unless he's some big time guy like papadakis
(5)tial 35mm wastegate? that is only good for 18psi
(6)17psi on t3/t4? uh..that's only like 300whp to run 500's..he better have some truck turbo and run 17psi
(7)so exactly what brand is the lightweight flywheel?

This guy is a total liar...how in the world can he hit 9's w/ that heavy *** car of his? Wait..must be that clear tail light and prolly watch too much F&F. 10 grand and you have a 9 sec car. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

and to those who believes him...don't ya feel like a jack ***?!?

Actually, they do sleeve H22's.

However, I agree with you on the rest. Some other problems I find are that he claims to have 590hp and run 9's. A prelude weighs in at 2954. Papdakis weighed in at half of that with his tube chassis hatch. He has 590hp, and Papadakis has 645hp. (atleast that is what I remember from an article about the hatch a year or two ago in Turbo) Can anyone explain to me how you can have a 50hp in a car that weighs 1500lbs less, and only come out with a 1 second gain? That is like me saying I am going to add 1500lbs to my car, and it should only be 1 second slower.
