exhaust sounding a little weird....

Default exhaust sounding a little weird....

Well i just installed a greddy 4-2-1 header on my 99 si as soon as i started to test drive it i heard some what of a sputtering sound..i don't kno what it is but is it supposed to make that sound or i have a leak or something, if i get on the gas the sputtering will get louder and busier but if i drive pretty calm the sounds not there someone help!

sounds like you have a leak, the more gas u give it the more exhaust you motor creates hence making the leak louder

did you make sure it was tightened real good?

its tightened pretty damn good, the sputter actually doesn't sound like it gets louder as i give it more gas it just sounds like it's there

check the doughnut (or whatever u call it) where the header ends and cat starts maybe thats loose. if its a 2 peace check the section where the top part of the header and the downpipe meet. those are the only places that it can be loose.

i would check the gasket and make sure its seated all the way around and make sure that no little particles of anything are in there causing it to leave a small hole letting exhaust gass's leak out.
