Default My LS All Motor Build...quick question

Well my tranny finally gave up, got another ys1 tranny which im going to rebuild with new syncros, and get a flywheel. Since im going to have my car sitting for a while HEHE i wanna build it slow. Here's wut im thinking:
Pr3 or p30 pistons
ACL or OEM bearings
OEM gasket kit
Shave the head a bit
Valve Job
Chip my ECU
Do a bit of tuning
This is for right now and get it running again.
Do you think this will be a good set-up maybe put down about 150 horses to the wheel or more.
Let me know and give me some more input.
Thanks in advance

if your just adding pistons you not going to add that much. my stock b18a dynoed at 121 hp so if you want 30 more hp your going to need to do more then just pistons

with a set of p30's a head mill, header and a new intake manifold/throttle body combo you should come fairly close to your goal.

I say withthat he gets about 130ish

I'm doing a budget build and have posted my parts on http://www.nonvtec.com PR3 pistons,Cams(404's),SK2 IM,valve train,Nice header, + TUNING will get you closer to 150whp look up user Hybrid_vtec set up. One of the nicest I've seen for a LS. 170whp

With that setup, you will be under cammed, so I would look into camsfor your engine as well and choose one that is going to help you reach your goal! Alsothe cam you choose has to relate with how you drive the car. Daily or weekend driver?

Crower 403 or Crane #16 for daily driving

Crower 404 or Crane #18 for more of a race application/weekend car

If you have any questions, I am willing to help.

don't have a dyno to show but i dynoed about 155 and think 126 tq with crower 404's I/H/Cat/E 2.5inch piping, universal muffler, SAFC, msd ignition, cam gears, aem pulleys, and would have been higher but i have low compression, with your block build and cams you will easily put down 150

All B18a/b's have a 9.2:1 Compression Ratio, but he dynamic will be much lower than stock whenyou go with the bigger cams, so bumping the compression is almost a must.

GSR Pistons will not yield you much compression.

if you want about 150 without touching the bottom end, mill the head down a LOT. get some 404s (they are small cams IMO), headwork, nice IM, nice header (herein lies your power window), hondata or other tuning system, and maybe a couple bolt ons and you should be just approaching the 150 mark
