Default Anybody have a Megan Exhaust? Need to know the sound.

I am looking for someone who personally knows the sound of a Catback megan Exhaust. I bought one off of here a week or so ago, and want to know the tone beofre I go and get it extended for my swap. if it is all loud and raspy(ricer) I dont want to get it extended. I know I should have thought about it first, but I jumped the gun. Anyone help me?

Don't mind if it is loud I guess, I just don't want it to be all raspy like "ricer" Hondas running around here. I am just curious if I want to put a test-pipe in for the cat. I am building the car as we speak, and it does not have a cat on it right now. I put a B16 out of a 2000 SI in it, and I dont want to put the testpipe in if it is going to make it all ghetto sounding. Cause I know the cat acts like another minor resignator.

Thos twin loops sound good. My friend Larry has one on his 97 ITR w/ a test pipe and it's deep as hell and the vtec just screams... is a little load though - if u want to keep it quiet u should get a hi-flow cat!!!

they all sound the same for the most part it is more dependent on the motor and the size of the rest of your pipe than the brand. If you put it on a sohc of course it will sound different from dohc. I have the remains of a greddy evoII system on my car, from the cat to the APC muffler that I have on there now and to me it sounds better than the evoII did. Speed bumb ate the other one when my mom was driving.

when it comes down to it, its just a bigger sized piping with a different kind of muffler. if it works and you like it. then do it!

I have the muffler on custom 2.5" piping on a FI application, sounds wonderful...not raspy at all

I'm not sure how it would sound on a NA application...

Its ignorant ******** like you that **** off people like me on honda-tech. Im sick of this ****, an exhaust is made of several parts, if it is made with a straight-design, has a resonator and optional stainless steel nwith minimal bends, then you are getting a fine exhaust. the damn exhaust has only one purpose: to free airflow restriction. You don't have to spend $600 on something that does what a $150 dollar exhaust will do. If you can't back up your statement then don't post your worthless comment.

the twin loop looks good, not a coffee can sized exhaust or anything, not sure how it sounds, but im assuming (since its mugen) that its a well designed long lasting nice exhaust, im not a fan of loud exhaust systems, im a fan of the RSr exhausts because they look good and sound silent, but still a little louder than stock.

Hate to break it to you, but I know the difference between the 2 exhausts. I was in support of the megan exhaust. I can't even understand the rest of your post, are you knocking the airmass exhuast i posted about or not ? And chill with the caps its annoying. I just think its stupid to say something and not back it up. A megan exhaust is not bad, MUGEN is overrated in my opinion due to the price.

MY reply was to the comment that "debo"made to you about the coffee can exhaust. he mixed up the mugen and megan.not you.his reply was to you then i made a reply to him after that.if you read my post any way both here and on yours,i am running the airmass system and love the **** out of it.it sounds great.the only thing is my whip is lower 1.75" so driveways are a bitch.otherwise i love it and would suggest it to everone.especialy at the price on ebay.sorry for the confusion.
