I doubt it, do a leak down test (with out the cams) and that will give you the answer.

It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the metal is blued on the head and rockers around the break or is that oil? You will have to pull the head to see the extent. If you didn't gall the saddles for the cam then you could send it to a machine shop to be checked and it may be salvageable. You could slap another cam in there if you are brave but it most likely didnt just snap for no good reason. It could have been a casting flaw and you may get very lucky with just replacing it but if you don't then you may take out the rest of your hopefully useable motor. If you go for it you need to do that leakdown with the cam out to check out the valves.

How old were those cams? Crower experimented with different materials several years ago and maybe you got one of those from that bad batch of several years ago. Fromwhat I understand this only happened on Vtec cams.

I purchased them in 2003 but i never had the chance to use them until 6-7 months ago. I used them for only 5000 miles.

Hmmmm.......I think you should have been fine, but maybe there were a few bad ones floating around! I bought my first set of Crowers in '02(no problems), and upgraded to a bigger cam in '04!

How long were they in the car before they broke?

Did you use the assembly lube?

Did you change oil right after break-in?

Did you periodically check your oil levels?(as new cams will soak up oil)

Contact Brian Crower and see if maybe they can replace it for you or maybe he might be able to cut you a deal!
