I've had this problem for about 5 months now...It is MAD annoying! Every time I accelerate my car makes this whistling noise when shifting from 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5. Sometimes it just does it when I accelerate on 4th or 5th without shifting. I searched and alot of you guys have had different whining noises so I wanted to be exact with mine...Anyone out there ever had this prob?? I don't want my tranny giving out on me but I'm not sure if it is my tranny....What do you guys suggest??

Forgot to mention where it's coming from...The noise sounds like it's near the alternator...

 

sounds like your cat shield that's were i got my noise i tore that **** off
one of the revits (how ever you spell that) gave on the shield all i can say is rev your car and follow the sound that's how i solved my problem hope i helped

Well, I had put on a new aftermarket cat in December so I doubt it that it's that...Although I started noticing the sound not too long after I installed that thing...It doesn't make that noise when I rev though. It only makes it when I drive, making it harder for me to tell where it's exactly coming from...

 

You have any idea how hard it is to diagnose a noise over the internet?

Well, I figured someone out there has had the same problem as me and would have a conclusion.... I also noticed it only happens around 2k rpm...

 

its ur intake yo!!! it happends when u press gas little hard right??

yes, it does...I have the stock intake though...I'll mess around with it and see what happens, although I don't think it's coming from that area....
