Default e-cutout on allmotor car...

do you think it's worth it to run an e-cutout in place of the cat? i have a 2 1/4" exhaust right now, so what i was thinking was...either get 2.5" piping($200), 2.5" cat(for my 2.5" collector on my header,$75-150), and welding my muffler on the piping($20-30)...or just keep my exhaust, get the 2.5" dmh cutout($200), and weld on flanges to bolt up to my header and cat-back exhaust...

i know running these cutouts on turbo cars is well worth it...but would i be able to see some gains from running this on my allmotor application?...i think it's a pretty good idea, but just wanted to see what honda-tech'ers think.

Just build a nice 2.5" Exhaust with no bottlenecks.

that's what i was thinking too...but mandrel bent piping costs a ton of money...i was thinking of going with the kteller exhaust piping...also having the e-cutout has it's advantages...it's pretty much like running straight header(without getting underneath the car), it'll be alot more quiet(unless i run the cutout open), and plus i think it'll be alot cheaper...hahaha.

my buddy ian just had his car tuned. it is a 2.0 liter full build. he uses a 3in. cut out and a stock del sol honda exhaust. power difference was 37 whp and 40 lb ft of tq. the a/f goes from 13:1 to under 10:1.

worth it.

so it runs at 10:1 a/f when the cutout is closed? and 37whp on an allmotor build? if you dont mind, i'd like to know what kinda mods he has...thanks.
