Convince me to go all motor!!
Im thinking of going boost just simply because It gets you more power for the dollar. I just wanna hear some of you all motor junkie's thoughts and reasons for staying n/a
damn, what header is that ? That motor looks freaking sick. Dont you think for as much money that was spent on that motor a built and turbo'd motor could be had?

1). Respect - Anyone can slap a turbo on something and get it to hold together long enough to make some quick passes.
2). Reliability - Hondas are not designed to see the abuse/stress of boost. Got money to dump into the engine for fuel management, rods, pistons, etc.? Then you might get it to last a year or so longer!
3). Driveability - I dunno about you, but I love the way a good all motor setup sounds and drives. I used to have a boosted 99 Si, so I have had both worlds. I would take the all motor route any day over boost.
All you are going to get when asking someone to "convince" you to go all motor are opinions. Its not going to do any good in most cases either. Most people who come in here saying "convince me to stay all motor" are all ready googlied eyed over the amount of power a boosted setup on 30psi makes and has thier mind made up. It won't be till after you dump the cash, up the boost, and blow it up that you actually look back and think "maybe those guys were right after all!".

Thanks for the great replies Im not sure exactly what i want to do. I orginally wanted to go all motor ,but everyone is like why waste the money when u can just boost and be way faster when in actual reality a all motor car running 11's will be way more reliable then a turbo car running 11's am i correct?

yup ... boost is for wimps
LOL
I have a thread somewhere around with some video footage on a dyno ... car dont sound too mean on the dyno but its different when you actually drive it in the street.
good luck on your decision ... btw, all motor is not always reliable, neither is boosting, after a certain point nothing is usually reliable. I've had all kinds of setups ...

allmotor!!! raw power, respect, a challenge, a little less$, a little more reliable, alot of fun!! 10,000 rpms is a great feeling
More challenging, lighter, "the way Honda intended it", the sound, revving high, linear power (for the most part, no huge spikes) with excellent response if done right.
Personally for me, all motor is just more interesting. Boost is awesome, no doubt. And engineering-wise the turbocharged engine is "better". But there's something awesome about getting the right combination of parts, squeezing every last bit of power from an engine with minimal bolted on parts (no parts that weren't there originally) and transforming a 145 whp engine into a 250 whp one. I'm less concerned with making big power and 10 second passes than I am with the overall feeling from an all motor car.

All Motor builds typically make more area under the curve in the useful range of a daily-driven vehicle than similarly priced turbocharged applications. Torque is instant and steady; there's no lag of any sort.
Plus, until you've been in a B18C punched over a couple .0x0's with 13.0 : 1 compression and some nasty bumpsticks, you haven't lived, my friend

Sound of a turbo is cool and all, but is way too played out! I think the sound of lumpy *** cams is unbeatable!
Also......
Anyone one can bolt on a turbo kit, but how many ppl can actually say they hand built their motor from the bottom up. It takes some skills!

The thing I like is that I do not have to deal with the massive amounts of heat turbo cars produce. It is nice to be able to go to the track for the day and not worry about overheating here in Florida. BTW that is a picture of my old eclipse in my avatar.
I must ask, why do you need convincing? What do you want to do: Turbo or N/A? How much are you willing to spend? How much do you know about what you are working on?
