Totaled my Teg
Hey guys..................
Well last Thursday I did something that I never thought I would do, wreaked my integra
So basically I am trying to decide on a new car to get. I have narrowed it down to three cars right now.
Lexus IS 300
Mazda RX8
G35 coupe (I like four doors better than coupes but I don't know if I like the look of the sedan version of the G35)
My question is of these three cars do any of you know the aftermarket support for them?
The B series engines had a huge aftermarket support group.
I would think that the Lexus would have a good one since it is a fairly old design.
I don't know about the other two though?
I know that none of these cars are Honda's but I really like this site and I know that many of you out there own other cars besides Honda's. So any help answering these questions would be great.................
Thank you in advance

I really like the IS 300 as a all around package so far..........
but just a little disappointed with the lack of power........got spoiled with my teg I guess
but how is the aftermarket support for the IS 300?

The IS has a ton of potential, just check out the videos on Visionboy.com to see what they are capable of as in aftermarket support.
I also like the G35 a lot, but I personally favor the looks of the Is and reliabilaty(sp?) of Toyota/Lexus.

sorry about the teg man
given that the last 2 choices are relatively new, there should be aftermarket parts coming out for them in the near future..remember when the rsx first came out and there wasnt much a k-series owner could do to their rsx?
i'd say get the g35 coupe, my gf just bought one over the break and it's a NICE ride..i dont think the lexus could compare to it.. and the g35 is closely related to the 350z..there's going to be plenty of parts for it

Well I lost control of it going into a corner, over corrected and ended up going head on into a concrete/steel post...........crushing the front end, tranny has a big hole in it, and I think the uni-body is tweaked as well.
The transmission had been going out for a while......felt like it dropped into like first and I lost traction or something. I really don't know but it was all over soo fast.... by the way air bags stink

Thanks for all of your guys support. I really like the engine of the G35 but I really want a four door, and I just can't get into the G35 sedans looks....
so the IS 300 has a good strong after market support huh?
Does anyone know about the RX8? I have always been a fan of the RX's for there rotoary engines.......but I don't know about this knew one as far as upgrading it? I haven't heard of any real serious turbo or supercharger upgrades for it?

those were the two cars i was planning to get eventually when i sell my teg. RX8 looks sporty, pretty strong for a 1.3 liter car. G35 leans more toward the luxury part. It all depends on your budget but both are pretty close price range. I would go to either one of them.

well either way 350z or G35 are still going to be too expensive for me to afford anything major mod wise for awhile.
That was what was nice about my teg...........paid off

RX-8 is rated the Best Sports Coupe in their Top 10 Best List. Handles like a dream they say. Although I would think keeping it maintenancing over the long run would be bothersome due to it being a rotary. Sorry about your Teg by the way.

sorry to hear man
well...in all essence the is300 is using a scaled down supra motor...you could definently do some fun stuff...ive read up on a lot if it since the car came out
imo...the rx8 blows....its a what 23,000 dollar car...it does have great handling...but my gsr with i/h/e and a few little diy goodies ripped that ****....from a dead stop
honestly, g35 bro. you got greddy with a twin turbo kit, vortech and procharger with centrifugal superchargers, and my favorite the turbonetics single turbo..that uses one of the factory exhaust manifold to mount that huge snail.....oh yeah and cant forget about good old stillen...they got real nice stuff out for the g35 and 350.
all in all...its your call...but bang for the buck get a 6speed g35...or just buy a beater...wait till 2007 for the usdm skyline....awd..in a coupe....v6 tt over 350 or v8 high comp right under 350
