ok guys, i installed my b18b for about a half hour, it ran terrible, so i started checking one thing at a time, finally got to the block, CRACKED SLEEVE! anyway, ive got access to a b18a engine, i know the intake mani and dizzy will bolt up, but what im wondering about is the cams? i know the b18b cams are a little better for power, but iwll they install without trouble? and can i use my b18b harness on the b18a? im almost certain ive got a few bent valves too or id just use the b head on the a block, which would make everything much easier, any advice would be appreciated...
edit: and will i be able to use the intermediate shaft off my b18b? i dont want to have to try and source all this stuff, i figured its the same blcok, so everything should be the same...
the one i found the guy wants 350 for the longblock, good deal or not?

All the A/B stuff interchanges. The A intake may or may not have egr. There may be sensors on the B block that aren't on the A.Price sounds good if you can pick it up and don't have to have it shipped.Wish I could be more positive on some of the obd1 to obd2 stuff.

ok thanks, the b18a im getting is obd0, but my b18b is obd1, so im going to use all my obd1 stuff on the a block, im just wondering if the temp sensor will work? i know on a z6 swap i did into a ef hatch i had to use a different temp sensor that threads into the block instead of on the thermostat housing, can i just swap thermostat housings???
sorry for all the stupid questions, but the search engine on here doesnt help much, and i think im the only idiot with this problem, oh and, what exactly is the difference in the b18a and the b18b, i know obviously one is 1st gen and 1 is 2nd, and one has more power, but what gives it more power? i know the blocks are the same, so obviously its in the head, are they ported any different or is it just the cam nad intake mani maybe?

I'm not so sure on some of the sensor locations.Nothing that can't easilly be solved. The B head has slighly better porting. The B cams are slightly updated.

the b18b head has 1 bent valve, and the new b18a mtoor has 2 stuck valves, anyone know how to un-stick these things? they have been sitting unstarted for like 2 years, with the lobes pushing them totally open, right now they are stuck 1/4 of the way open and i dont want to have to pull the head off to fix it, any ideas?
