you could run in SM, STS doesn't allow FI.

The turbo puts you in SM, SM2 or a prepared class. Don't have a rule book at home but SM if applicable is your best place to run.

SM. SM2 is for 2 seaters (Miatas, CRXs, MR2s).

You'll go against Talons/Eclipses, WRXs, Supra Turbos, etc.

One thing you will learn from autocrossing is that its about 95% Driver 5% car. I can't tell you how many people that I have meet that have been turned off to autocrossing because they don't think their car is "good enough".

See my sig.

Your first year out you should just worry about having fun and getting seat time. I maybe able to help you setup your car at the track with all my gear

You will be against cars and drivers with lots of $$$$ in Street Mod (SM).

Street Mod (SM) or E Mod (EM). Aftermarket forced induciton isn't legal in any of the prepared classes either.

E Mod is where you end up if you aren't legal in street mod (EM = forced induction engines any size, and normally aspirated over 2 liters, DM = normally aspirated under 2 liters).

I would have won street mod in my club this year...in my STS Sentra.

IMO, autocrossing favors handling over power almost always. No matter what, those Talons are going to turn 3,200 lbs compared to your, what, 2,400 lbs?

Advantage: Civic

Oh don't be a chicken and get your *** on the start line. The first year you should run in Novice Class where you'll learn how to handle speed, control your car and figure out what class you should run in next year. Don't worry about your times or spinning out or looking like a novice. Everyone was a novice once so get your *** up early and get down to registration and tech and have some tire shredding fun with everyone else!!!!!!!

Yes get out there. The more seat time you get the better you will become. I don't know if I'm allowed to do instructor runs but I will see if I can help you out ajn.
