I just got a lower tie bar (rear) for my 97 accord. Will probably put it in this weekend,,,,,,,,,, does anyone have any install tips???

Also got the front strut tower tie bar,,,,,,,, that looks pretty straight forward,,,, but I would like to get some new self locking nuts for the shock bolts. Does anyone know where to get these? The old ones are getting pretty corroded. Suppose I could wire brush/dremel them and clean them up though.

In general I would like to find a good source for hardware like nuts an bolts etc. Napa somethimes has them but not always. Usually I have to clean up the old ones.

 

I had something similar happen. The 3 bolts that attach the front mount to the engine block were missing. I went to my local hardware store and I got the coarsest thread pitch they had, but to no avail they didn't fit. Dealer only. You might be stuck in just getting new nuts from the dealer. The thread pitch might be "special" or "dealer only". Just something you might want to keep in mind.

Just in case.....thread pitch is the number of threads per inch. The more there are it's considered "fine" and less are called "coarse". Good luck on the install, I'm looking for used bars myself. ISO both rear upper and lower.
