Installing Honda Civic Lower Tie Bars
Ok, I did a search and nothing really answered the question I have. Plus, my directions look like someone had a spare 3 minutes and a copy of Microsoft WordPad. On top of that my LCA bolts are a bitch. Only an impact will break them loose and that's just the bolt...the nuts are still rusted to the frame. Pain in my ***.
How the hell do I mount a Megan lower tie bar? I get the basics: jack it up (and all the safety precauts that go w/ that), loosen the LCA bolts, put the brackets on the bolts, and tighten everything up. But what side of the frame are these things supposed to go on? Do they mount on the nut side (toward the front), or the head of the bolt side (rear)? I don't wanna mess w/ my rusted stuff til I figure this out. Any help would be great. Plus, a single pic of an installed LTB would be an awesome addition to the info. Thanks in advance.

take out the lca bolts, put lower tie bar on and tighten up bolts. The tie bar faces the rear bumper. You can see it under the rear of the car

Ya since u live out there, u could encounter a rust problem. Let it soak really good.

what?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The nut on the backside of the rear lower subframe isnt jsut rusted shut to it. It is welded to it. Its not welded to the LCA and nothing is welded to the LCA.
Where the bolt threads into, If your underneath the car with 2 wrenches, you dont need to be. Get what im getting at???

Believe me, if it was simple it would be done already and I wouldn't be adding to my carpal tunnel by posting here. If you saw the underside of my car (covered with something resembling rhino liner or line-x) you'd understand.

Ok, that makes sense now. That would explain the difference in their size too. Hard to tell whats going on under my car. I had a bitch of a time with the exhaust bolts so I just figured these were the same. Nice to know, thanks!
