When you guys travel to a race out of town, what do you guys do to prevent theft while parking at the hotel? I've heard of guys sleeping right inside the tow vehicle, but that would kinda beat the point of renting a hotel room to stay at(party)

most i ever seen just arrive at the track and leave the car there covered with tarp unhook setup and stuff then come back at the morning.

otherwise the best bet ist to have strap it down with tarp covering the car completely keep nothing valuable in the car ofcourse.

Remove the battery, steering wheel, ECU, etc?

Otherwise, sleep in the tow truck with a Glock nearby.

Insure it for enough that makes you comfortable and if they take it, they can have it.

When you say theft do you mean of the tow vehicle and car or just the car.
I take all valuables out. When I'm done racing I usually set a low rpm limit of 500 on the sem before I head into the hotel. Basically it will start but not move....

Also I dont like the tarp/car cover(unless the weather suxxx) cause I figure if somebodys inside it screwing around, I or other people wont be able to see.
I had a car stolen that way before in front of my house.

Do you guys know if tracks let you leave the car and trailer on their property over night?

I would think that would be the safest thing, unless there are dumbasses that break into tracks and steal cars.

I tow the car every where with me, and keep it parked near by when staying in the hotel.

Have a battery disconnect on the tow truck were you are the only one that knows about it.

Have a battery disconnect on the race car, not the one in the back. Have one more in the car.

This way they can not start the truck and have the package deal or take the race car running.
==================================================
Chain the trailer wheels, if they try to tow it they will have a hard time.

==================================================

Chain the race car wheels to the trailer.

Anything lite that is of value take it with you to the room or put it in the truck.

Tool Boxes are always HEAVY, chain it down make it hard for them to take.

This is the rule of we use when we take our Bonneville truck to the races and have had good luck.

Good Luck Paul.

most tracks have someone on patrol all night. i feel comfortable leaving my car at tracks such as Atco & E-Town. Altough i usually crash in my truck anyway.

I usually do not have a problem with that,but also have a lock on the trailer hitch so they can not remove trailer and take that.I still have the key locks on the door.
