Default H22 with no VTEC?? Need Help

Some dude is trying to sell me a H22. He said that it is missing one cam shaft and the engine is from japan. He said that that engine has no VTEC.

Is there an H22 without VTEC? or was he pulling my leg.

Thanks

VTEC is not a crossover from cam1 to cam2. Its a change in the cams aggressiveness using different profiles. The motor will not run withough one camshaft either. If he is telling you there is no VTEC on an H22, Im thinking you either are not getting an H22 or the H22 you are getting is busted.

probably missing the VTEC solinoid...

but in either case.... I wouldn't even consider buying the motor in the first place from that person if he said something like that...

No there is no h22 with no vtec. But vtec won't work with only one camshaft. Thats what vtec is, its the crossover from camshaft1 to 2.

Thats sounds like a bad deal to me. You need both you intake and exhaust cams. tell that dude to lay off the crack. Wonder what else is missing.

YEP - I think he's trying to stiff you. I mean - look at it first to make sure it says H22 on it.... Check the mileage....and check the price with us...if it's a resonable price - (CHEAP!!!), then you should buy it...since you're going to build it anyway right?

Agreed, buy your motor from someone you trust or a respected seller like HMO
