WTF!! I just spun my GSR like a RWD...
I have been driven fwd for a long time now and thought I had it basically mastered.... So I have been really sick the last couple days and been in bed, I havent driven my car in nearly a week... So just 10 minutes ago I realize its a nice cool quiet night and I'm finally well enough to go outside so I decided to take my car for one of my latenight quickie joyrides... I speed through a slick of water then come to a stop sign, feelin my tires are wet I wanna do a takeoff with a little wheelspin. So its a left Knowing my tires are wet I release the clutch swiftly and my wheels break loose easily at around 3500 to 4000 rpm I keep the rpm at a steady rise and the car is understeerin' just as I expect and Im turnin perfectlly, then suddenly the car straightens out and I can feel the weight shift from one side of the car to the other.... Next thing I know Im sideways goin toward the curb so I slam on my brakes and miss the curb, I almost spun all the way around, I mean it was from a dead stop thats why im so suprised, and was modulatin the throttle gently... I was suprised as hell... It felt identical to bein in a mustang or somethin and puttin in to much throttle in a corner... I did not think that was possible in a FF car... No way, not at 20mph... anyone else ever done this kinda thing??
so... were you turning and then layed off the throttle to reduce wheelspin/understeer?
if so, your front wheels would have hooked and weight would have transferred causing the back end to step out.. had it happen on a snowy corner a few times since, never to spin out, but just a lil.

lift-throttle oversteer. It will happen in any car if you suddenly lift off the gas when in the middle of a turn. It unsettles the vehicle. when mastered, it is very helpful on the track.

LMFAO!
You're a perfect example of the term "04 Member" and an example of why people hate valets. (if you're pushing their cars to see how "bad ***" they are)
And FYI, sliding uncontrollably towards a curb isn't "driving at the limit". It's passing the limit because you don't know where it is.

I agree
Refer to first post. I can understand if your in a big empty parking lot somewhere and you want to get a better feel...but partaking in this stuff on public roads is nothing to brag about, nor is driving the **** out of someones high dollar car while your at work. What if you were going a little bit faster and jumped the curb and someone was out late walking the dog? Wouldn't be too funny and I'm quite sure you have the common sense to realize the folly of your "spirited drive".

I didn't hear anyone else chime in and say that I "made you sound like you ran a stop, floored it and pulled the e brake". Don't misinturpret what is being said, and don't mis quote me because that is Not what I said.
I quoted 'spirited drive' to denote an air of sarcasm. I would be a fool if I said I don't go for spirited drives. Everyone who likes to drive has their own little piece of asphalt heaven.
I simply know my limitations and keep the rear end of the car where it should be: In the rear. Nor am I peeling out or driving at excessive speeds. 5-10mph over the speed limit is good enough for me.
No need for you to puff your chest at me or anyone else. I'm not the one who is having trouble driving my car when the road is wet. Perhaps you should re-evaluate how well of a driver you THINK you are and do this **** where your not going to kill someone and/or damage someone elses property. Because the obvious fact is: If you have no idea the rear end is going to slide out on you, then its you who has no business driving that car.
Let's not forget about insurance also. It's because of people like yourself who go and 'learn' there limitations on public roads is the reason why I have to pay higher insurance rates.
You can get angry, punch holes in the walls, respond to this with some kind of dim witted retort but facts are facts and it only takes once.
Maybe I will 'get the hell of this website and buy a Buick'. I'll go put money down on a Grand National

Excellent..you drove cross country...that's soooo hard. Nothing like a highway for 3000 miles
And you were a valet? so you drove badass cars around a parking lot? Even better!
You are a tool...next time I hope you hit the curb...and dont ever say again that your integra acted like a mustang....

Do you have your better tires up front? If so your better tires should be in the rear for better traction. Its a common misconception to put the better tires in the front. There is a Michelin video around that proved this point. I still put the better tires up front because of wear issues.
