Default Bearing Color Code

I know that alot of people are using any bearings. (Green is mostlt the common color) Is it a good idea just to go ahead and get all green colored bearings?

There are like 20 peices am I correct?

that would be stupid.

read teh block and the crank, adn buy the corrosponding bearings.

then plastigauge

if clearances are ok, run them. if not, adjust by buying a differant bearing of larger/smaller thickness

When people buy aftermarket bearings like ACL, they typically have their crank spun (slightly milled) at a machine shop to fit their bearings. Where as with OEM you can order the bearings to fit the crank/block.......
This is also an EXCELLENT write-up that covers building the whole bottom end of a B18C (including bearing sizing/installing): http://www.evans-tuning.com/vi...build
