Default what air intake cone filter for best performance?

yes I searched, only one reply for "air filter" and it wasn't particularly relevant

I have a k&n filter on the end of aem-esque cold air intake pipery right now. I've been hearing junk on other forums about how k&n filters don't flow as much air as some, especially once they've got a bit of dust in them.

So what's the best setup?

The car is an ITA crx Si. I guess the motor could be considered a wear item, since I'm not expecting it to have a long lifespan, so having the ultimate filtering isn't really priority.

Just looking for opinions, thanks

the filter with the largest surface area that you can cram into where the filter sits.
