(i blame it on the battery acid over the loaded tire...)
i dont think i was too excited about it. that last 180 was totally a surprise tho, i guess the body was used to the spinning, i thought the car was at rest, but then the slightest touch of the wheel sent it another 180, facing the right way. yes, very fortunate nothing happened. i should have asked if the guys behind me had it on video... (the video cut off abruptly in an editing mistake, but that was the whole event)

I'd have been shitting my suit!
I had a similar incident happen when I went off at Nelson's in November, only without so much traffic heading for me . . .

j/k, it was fun and i learned that i can't brake that late with stock brakes and bald azenis
. the worst part was the cars comming up on me didnt really have any way of knowing I was stalled in the middle of the track... but no one hit me so i guess its all good.

right clicky save as please- http://videos.autoshowoff.net/Spin(1).avi
not all that impressive... but the 3 seconds i was sitting in the middle of the track stalled... knowing there were cars comming around the corner... were probably the longest 3 seconds of my life

I was always taught that once the car starts to rotate to a point that you're no longer in control, don't fight it, just let the car go off. Hopefully, you can get the car to go off in a somewhat controlled manner, but fighting the car on the track poses a huge hazard to yourself and others. Especially if the car catches grip, and shoots across the track.

as was i. however, the decision i made was to try and keep the car from hitting the grass completly sideways @ 60-65 or whatever i was doing. unfortunatly, i overcorrect, still managed to hit the dirt sideways, and ended up t stalled in the middle of the track...
i managed to get in over my head... i knew i was going to be pushing my luck to make the corner as soon as i turned in, and as you can see, the back swung around pretty damn quick. perhaps had i gone 2 feet in faster i would have managed go off backwards
did i learn my lesson? yup.

Sorry, I hope you don't think I was criticizing or anything like that. I was just making an observation, nothing against you, as I did the exact same thing.
At my first track event a few years ago, I dropped two wheels in a fast left hander. The rear started to come around, I overcorrected, corrected again, then the car caught traction, shot across the track and when up a hill on the infield a good 40 ft.
Lesson learned for me!

there is nothing wrong with criticism as long as its not super negative
