Falken Azenis vs. Yoko AVS ES100
As the title says, I am looking for opinions on these two tires. My Type R is my daily driver and i only have one set of wheels at the moment and i am looking to get a new set of tires. I have heard many good things about the Yokos from friends who use them however i have read a lot on the Azenis to be very good tires as well. My biggest concern is since i only have one set of wheels, these would be the tires that i drive on every day. I would just like to hear your guys thoughts on how they perform in the dry, in the wet, and what the tread wear is like. Thanks.
azenis by far... i just installed them on my R>.. there my 2nd set... there a great tire it improves the cars handling alot because of the good grip they offer and the great side wall rigidity.... were as the es100 has ok grip but still not as good and the side walls suck they make the car roll and pitch more in corners and feel unsafe.
I did try searching first but i only went through the first few i found and they were all people saying they just bought them and here are pics and people selling them. I didnt see anywhere where they had reviews or comparisons but i am sure i must have missed it or didnt search correctly. Sorry Bbasso. Please dont flame me

yes the es 100s are better in the wet... but realisticly if you drive like a normal person in the rain with azenis you will be ok... drive like an *** in the rain with any kind of tire... jOO will get owned.

there's no comparison. they're 2 different types of tires.
while we're at it lets talk about what's better for drag racing, BFG Drag Radials or ES100's

i am about to pick up a new set of avs es 100's. i had a set b4, very close to the stock re010, but not quite as good. well, your paying half the price so what do u expect. Azenis, from what i hear, are amazing tires that i will be using after i start to mod my caR. however, your odometer will read faster i believe from the wider azenis (correct me if i am wrong), and they suck in the rain. I am more than likely getting the es100's, i never noticed any negative handling aspects, and i think they grab as well as the stocks. for daily driving, get the yoko's. my 2 cents.
keep in mind i went from stock, to yoko, to stock, and now back to yoko. on the street i dont think that you will be able to find a noticable difference between those two. the azenis, however, will probably GLUE your car to the road.
good luck with your decision
oh yeah, doesnt the azenis treadwear suck too?

When you say "suck too", do you mean in comparison with the ES100s?

I have tried Dunlops, Yok Parada, Daytonas, Michelin Pilot Sport, Azenis, and ES100 on my car. The ES100's are my favorites so far, and I just put on my second set. Their performance for the price point cannot be beat. Granted, the Azenis have near physics defying handling characteristics, but I don't like them as a daily driver. The have a very sticky compound, but the downside to that is you will wear though them quickly. After about 1000 miles of driving it will start to sound like a mud tire on a truck, especially if you car does not have perfect camber. The ES100's will perform almost as well on the dry ground. They will be much safer in the rain. They will last longer, and they are not as prone to abnormal wear as the Azenis.

From: Our Rs are dinosauRs waiting, for extinction
I just got a new set of ES100's put on my R two days ago...
I decided to go with those from all the good feedback they get.
So far so good
My R is a daily driver
My last set of tires were the Kumho 712's

I am running a test with these tires.....next 2 track events. Just ordered the Falkens today.....ES100 have 2 track events on them.
ES100: Nice Wet, All around, good durability.
Falkens: Great Track, Good dry, don't last.
my guess

Has anyone ever had any problems with hydroplaining on the highway when its raining with azenis? That would be mine main concern from all the highway driving that i do.

Don't drive fast in the rain. Same goes with any other tire out there.

i just got my avs's week ago and i like them alot over my past wheels (brigdstones). They feel like that have a great grip on the road when i'm driving and espeaiccly(spl?) in the wet weather. I think they are a great tire for all around driving

exacxtly,
BTW: ES100's are the suxors
might as well get Shitto's if all you care about is tire wear and wet water performance. Azenis aren't the best but they do own ES100's any day.

i had both.. azenis are super loud, especially on the highway.. they always kick up rocks and such. but if you can mind the noise, the azeni is a better tire, especially when hooking up its got great tread. IF you dont plan on launching and ur car is a cruiser. i would definiately get the es100s, .. o ya and the azenis will slide out in water, ive gotten sidways just turning in a gutter with them so be careful
