A-pillar / roof rail cross section (pic)
don't know if I ever got around to posting this (I apologize if I did...), but here is a picture of the cross section of the top of the A-pillar, for anyone who cares.

So you guys now have a prelude spyder? Sweet, and I love how you just cut through the sunroof drain tube.
Is the folding of the metal a detriment to the strength of the piller in a crash?

Google: "A-pillar guages" to figure out what an A-pillar is.
Then put two and two together. geez people... Thanks for the pic Greyout.

wow, thanks for that definition professor **** monkey. but without the picture below it was a little difficult realizing just how that first pic was an a pillar. It looks more like a mangled piece of crap then anything else.

FWIW, it's described as "the top of the A pillar" and "cross-section."
being lost at first is natural, a little thought and it ought to make sense what that is. but sometimes people (myself included) don't feel like thinking about it, give up, and say they're lost.
anwayzzzzzzzz, now it's time to water seal the bottom, throw an outboard on and have a 4th gen fishing boat!

lol - that twisted piece of crap is the original shape of the A pillar without interior panels, rubber seals, weather stripping, etc.
I guess its been so long that many of you guys never saw it.
its car #2 in my sig
WAS this:

blah blah whatever, everone has seen these pictures I think
THEN, the good 'ol CAI sucked up some water (no splash shield
)
and this happened

"hmmm.... #1 & #4.... something doesn't look right....."

If I wasn't a complete moron, I would have just found a short block, and be done with it.
but nooooo... instead I thought it would be a brilliant idea to get an H23 and turbo the **** out of it.
well after I bought some stuff:

+ electronics, AEM EMS, entire H23, etc, etc... I realized it would take me way more resources then I had to finish it.
At that point, decided the car was a giant waste of time, cursed, (2 trannies, 2 engines, a wreck...) and should be parted out.
so I STRIPPED IT FREAKIN' BARE, and sold just about everything you can possibly imagine.

obviously some stuff sold faster then others
problem was, when I was done, I had something that wouldn't move or roll.
(the bottom)

a note to anyone thinking of parting out a car:
ITS A ROYAL PAIN IN THE ***! I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN, I WAS MAKING A TRIP TO UPS ONCE A WEEK WITH LIKE 10 BOXES, GIANT AKWARD **** THAT THEY ALWAYS GAVE ME CRAP FOR! All I did was **** people off, including myself.
anyway, so I had to get rid of it, so I grabbed a

and a few "emergency rescue & demolition blades" for it, and went to town.
a day later, I had what is pictured above. Much of the car was thrown into a dumpster. The real heavy **** (firewall, floor, etc) was dragged across the scales at the junk yard for $12
so thats lude #2's story. Just came across that one picture, and have always thought it was weird, thought I'd share.
I REALLY wish I took a better picture of the cross section of the front frame rail & wheel well, that was very interesting.

I still don't get why you cut it up. Junk yards will usually take anything if you have the title. I took a Valarie in that we lit on fire and had its driveline lawn darted into the ground to the junkyard.
I had to cut a tercel in half once because we didn't have the title. We did it with four axes, killed three of them.

Wow, crazy story...should have had more patience and gone turbo, though
BTW, did you happen to notice any parts of the unibody that were heavier and more useless than others??
