Default Fabricating a new dashboard

Im fabricating a new dashboard for a crx. I already have the frame made and welded in place. Now what im wanting to do is get some aluminum diamond plate and bend it and weld that on to the frame. Any Ideas on what I could get to bend it also anything else that might look good instead of diamond plate im open for suggestions.

$50 aint bad looks cheap but get the job done. Was thinking just sheets of aluminum either powder coated or anodized.

But now that I think more about it i might as well cut the metal to fit and weld certain panels on and bolt some in for quick acess. But just trying to come up with the best way to keep the edges smooth and fill gaps if need be.

Don't know your plans, but you probably won't want to leave the aluminum dash bare (meaning bright, unpainted aluminum.) The glare will drive you nuts. Also you may wish you'd not used diamond plate. The bumps in it mean gauges and switches won't sit flat. Why not a plain sheet of carbon?

sheet carbon hard to cut. Cuz i know carbon fiber is a #%$^ to cut cuz if ya do it wrong it spider webs i hear.

Was planning on just powdercoating each peace of diamond plate and on every diamon plate i was gonna put something in such as a gauge it was gonna be cut bigger and powder coated aluminum was gonna go behind it to hold it for everything that wouldnt sit level cuz of the diamonds.

I cut carbon fabric with ordinary scissors no problem. and if the finished panel is thin, cut with either tin snips, hacksaw, bandsaw, or cut-off wheel. No problem.
