jdm f22b + h23a1
From what ive gathered from reading and researching, differences between the jdm f22b and the h23a1 are
-Jdm f22b = Smaller Bore
-Jdm f22b = Smaller cylinder walls
-Jdm f22b = No knock sensor
also ive heard the h23a1 to be rated at 160hp @6000 rpms, and 158tq @ 5800 rpms, while the jdm f22b is 160hp @6000 rpms, and 150tq @ 5000 rpms.
Can anyone confirm or deny this information? Also is anyone aware of any other differences between the two engines (maybe in measurements of things, and whatnot). I'd be especially grateful, as Im starting to look into really working on my jdm f22b. Also ive read the compression on the f22b is 9.1:1 and im not sure what the compression was on my old h23a1. Thanks

He said jdm f22b which is dohc non-vtec as well... F22b is pretty much the same as an h23 with just 1mm smaller pistons...

F22b on the butt dyno has been rated as having a better top end pull. Just a butt dyno though, and sadly I can agree it feels stronger... f22b guys have reported mid 15's where as h23's come in high 15's consistently... There isnt much of a difference aside from the facts listed above.. and then the opinions I included..
Note: They are not facts... Just opinions and observations.
F22B DOHC non-vtec 2.2l OPEN DECK... The other basics have been mentioned.. Tired of repeating..

Probably because a 2.3l would require more air than a 2.2l, therefore the same head flows better on the smaller motor...

so what i listed there is about it as far as differences? When i start getting into headwork, and doing the pistons, i should get pistons for which engine? cause i can never find any made specifically for the jdm f22b? .... and header, cams, etc etc etc... for a h23 will be proper for my f22b then?
hey did you ever finish the setup.
i am currently working on a F22b with H23 head setup. Wonder if that is similar setup to your.
I am also considering running the F22b stock with just the H23 cam shaft... don't know if it fits...

I don't see why not since f22b cams are basically h23 cams...
