Default Autocrossing with wheels spacers?

Doesn't sound like the brightest idea to me either but I'm out of ideas right now. I have an 18x10.5 wheel and a 295/30/18 tire and its rubbing against my IRS. I'm only looking at putting in a 1/4 inch spacer and I'd be checking the lugnuts after every run.

What do you guys think? Should I do it or spring for custom rear wheels? (Not the thing I really wanna do either)

As long as your lug nuts have enough threads to thread on to there's nothing at all wrong with autocrossing with spacers. Checking torque after each run is good practice anyway.

Yea as "team" said just get 1/4" long studs and it is just like running a different offset rim.
Do it right and all will be safe.

as long as you get a full 6-8 threds on the lug nuts you are fine - i run 3mm spacers on my car almost all the time and have no trouble.

yes a best practice is to have a wheel with the proper offset, but spacers when used proerly are perfectly safe. just make sure you torque your wheels evenly each and every time you install them, and check them after a few miles of driving (or a run) to make sure they haven't "slipped" a little.
