DP madness :D
we built a custom recirculating dumptube/downpipe for a customer this week. setup consists of a ProStreet non AC mani, TiAl 44mm, and 3.0 in DP....should work pretty well

TIG'd sample part, same material and technique as the dp.

I don't get the point of the flex pipe on the dumptube, obviously the downpipe is not going to flex.</TD></TR></TABLE>
But the motor will.

That stuff will flex like crazy once it gets some heat in it. Trust me. I've played with a few of the Turbonetics kits that dump back into the downpipe, but they dont use flex joints, just welded straight together. Once the engine runs, if you take it back apart, nothing ever fits the same going back on. Huge PITA.

Stainless likes to grow alot the flex pipe is a cool idea, i myself would have just expanded and used a double slip, they may not have an expander?
But point being that the stainless may just grow into itself and crack

Downpipe = Cold ... warm... hot... then you turn engine off.
Dump tube= Cold.... Hot.... cold .... hot.... cold .... hot
Good move with flexy, work of art, absolute work of art

where might one buy a small flex pipe like that to make a cheap imitation?
</TD></TR></TABLE>
1.5" SS bellows - they are produced but the only place I have seen them used are oem diesel applications for EGR tubes. International truck dealership, go to the parts desk and ask for 1842844C1 or 1842845C1 I do not know how much they cost retail but your get a flex bellows, two three bolt flanges, two SS 1.5" 90 degree bends, and a SS 1.5" 45-ish bend.
