Default Car Shaking Help.

Ok I have a 96 Accord EX and tonight on the way home it started shaking really bad when slowing down. It did it when slowing down with the brakes on but also seemed to do it while just slowing down without the brakes. When I was sitting in the passenger seat it felt like the floor was shaking some also. My first thought was something in the suspension but I'm really not sure any idea's as to what it could be?

hmm.

Warped rotors?

can be an axle issue... are there any noises, or just shaking?

Do you have a way to jack up your car and see if anything is loosened up?

If not, and this is just really out of place, you might just take it to a shop

I have a garage and floor jacks and jack stands so I can get it up enough to get under it. I have thought about taking it to a shop to get them to see what is wrong with it and then do the work myself as I can do a fair amount of stuff if I know what is wrong. It makes a sound I guess It was just like a ratteling sound like stuff was vibrating. It may be rotors. I remember a few years ago I had a problem like this but not exactly but where it would shake and the shop kept replacing rotors but it ended up being the tires but my tires arnt that old.

well, if you've felt a similar shake before and it was tire balance then might as well get that checked too.

Don't think it was tire balance before just that one of the tires was bad. I'm thinking of going with Brembo's don't know if replacement disks or preformance rotors but probably replacement Nopionline.com has both made by Brembo but I'm not sure thats what it is may get the tires checked to.

Have you smelled anything like something that was just melted? Is the steering wheel rattling too? If so, this could be a bad master cylinder. I had that problem with my wife's car. It would rattle when slowing down without the brakes too.

Warped rotors is a possibility too.

If your tires or tire is bad, or unevenly worn, that's something worth checking out further...

Steering is shaking also. I wonder about the tires because thats what it was last time we had a shaking but I don't remember if it was the same. I didn't smell anything burning. I kind of don't think it is the tires though because they arnt that old and they arn't cheap tires but it may be the tires.
