I'll be at Sebring on sunday for PCA event. I'm looking forward to it. Your vids though have helped in my studying of the track.
Edit: After watching the vid again, does anyone else feel that the drivers seat is moving around way to much?

Heh, I think that comes up with every vid this guy posts.

wow that porshe is way quick, Audi is amazing, is that a famous driver with a special technique? when ive watched Speedvision rally they were nowhere near as talented with footwork as that man was, or were they?....
The GT3R porsche Transmission is a straight cut gears with dog Syncros.
Thats the reason he is shifting so fast. up or down.

Regarding the Audi video...
I know the "Killer B's" were wickedly fast, so much so that they were ultimately banned.
But, did anyone feel that the in-car shots were sped up just a touch? That Audi was absolutely flying through turns and I'm sure dirt doesn't offer the same kind of traction asphalt does to allow those perceived speeds... At least the last time I checked.
I love the good ol days of rallying though where rally-crazed Europeans would test their bravado against a charging rally car. Actually, it makes me wonder why Europe's population isn't smaller!

Yeah, apparently that's the way the Porsche-spec seats are. It's all FIA certified (or some other similar thing) though, so whatever.

not to dog on Leh but heel/toeing is a lot easier with a close ratio trans where the gears all have the same rpm spread. Which is something that I am sure that porsche does from the factory.

I always like seeing Leh's incar shots. Oh to be young and rich
There's one Porsche (I think in Grand Am Cup) set up with a botton on his shifter to "blip" the throttle. This is because the driver has had ankle injuries and can't phisically twist his foot over to heet-toe. So in a sense it's thumb-toeing. It's actually a pretty cool concept. He pushes the button as he downshifts and it revs enough to match. Right now I can't think of who the driver was.

In GA no throttle by wire is allowed, so i don't see how it could be done, i might be missing something though

They said on Speed that it's a regular throttle, but they approved this one guy to have a button to blip the throttle because oh his ankle. I'm guessing they have a linear actuator or something that just hits the throttle. I'm 90% sure it was GA. I think it was during the Lime Rock race that they mentioned it.
