started by pulling the motor a few weekends ago:

then my buddy (gold EF here on HT) just started taking everything apart this week:

my stock clutch on the left (112k miles on it), my other buddy's H22 clutch on the right (80k miles)

my pistons...

wtf is this? oil in my IM?!?

eww gunky valves

that's it for now... the head went out today for a valve job so we're going to start putting things back together this weekend... and no mods, just stock rebuild
no $$$ for stuff like that
oh yea, here are some other projects that we're working on:

lsvtec w/ ctr pistons and NAWZZZZZZZZZZ (don't mind the smurf blue color scheme) was in my buddy's EF

H22 from a donor wrecked '97 Prelude (parting out, check out my link in sig)
gonna go into my other buddy's Accord:

oil was burning... I've had the problem for a while, and at 90k my mechanic replaced the valve stem seals w/o doing any diagnostics. That didn't help at all, so I decided to finally rebuild it at 130k miles. 1qt of 20w50 every 1000 miles was eating up my pocketbook pretty fast

Why not use the stock lifting points? </TD></TR></TABLE>
i dont like using stock points because sometimes they are hard to reach, and the chain gets stuck on the sensors, sometimes sheering them off and what not. and this way, i can tie the rope in a way and adjust the lengths so that the motor comes out at the angle i want, i dont like using those balancer thingeys.
ive tried everything, and this rope method seems to be the best as far as not damaging the engine. it looks like a big mess but i use 3 points. one is the distributor, one is the front point, and one is the intake manifold. rope doesnt hurt the engine : P and you dont have to worry about changing the length of the chains and whatnot

if you dont do anything else you really should at least get some b16 pistons in there
they cost next to nothing and will bump compression to 11.3 and you will always have the option of building the head and geting bigger cams latter on since you have the compression to support them

do you know if it will pass emissions? i dont think it will pass smog, dont feel like taking it apart just to pass smog, if not, i have a set of b16a pistons chillin on the shelf, if it will pass smog, i will slap them on : P 11.3 is kinda high... dont forget we milled the head 60k
